First off, let me say that this would not be my number one recommendation for making money, especially if you are looking to grow a full-time income. In fact, it would be my last resort, even for part-time income.
So why have I listed it? Because many people who start investigating ways to make money online seem to stumble on this opportunity first. It is a legitimate way to earn money online and may be a starting point for some. The fact is it is one of the easiest ways to start making money online. It requires absolutely no skill on your part, other than being able to answer questions, and you can get started today.
So, it is a legitimate way to make money online, but in my opinion, it is by no means a lucrative way to make money online.
At most, this is an opportunity to make a little cash on the side. For the time spent answering surveys, the money earned is generally not that much, so while completing a few surveys will put some money in your pocket, it would be unrealistic to try to earn a full-time income doing this.
There are a lot of companies that will pay you for completing a survey. Type “online surveys that pay money in the USA” and you will be inundated with options. CAUTION: Never pay for the opportunity to complete surveys. There are sites out there that will ask you to pay for a membership which will allow you to complete surveys for cash. Stay away from these. They are likely scams.
Earning Potential
While there are surveys that will pay $50 or more, these are rare. Most pay between 10c and $5. Surveys can take a good amount of time to complete, some as long as 15 to 20 minutes. People have recorded earning anywhere from as little as 50c to around $2,00 per hour on average (way below minimum wage.) That said, if you are looking to add to your savings and have 2 hours to kill a night, you could add an extra $720 to your savings over a year.
As a last thought, if this is something you plan to try out, you should know that not all surveys pay cash. Some pay in the form of gift cards. Some of the more popular sites will pay you anywhere between 20% and 60% of the amount they sell the usage rights of the photo for. Since they only sell the rights to use the photo, the same photo can be ‘sold’ repeatedly.

To give this some perspective on what you can earn on your photos, Adobe Stock sells photos for an average of $80 per photo and pay a commission of 33% at the time of this writing. That means that if your photo sold on the Adobe Stock website, you would earn $26.40 for that sale. If you had 20 photos uploaded here and they all sold an average of 5 times, you would earn $2,640. Better than this, these photos could continue to earn you income for a long time after you put in the initial work of capturing and uploading the photo.
And, if this isn’t enough to excite you, Adobe Stock and many of the other sites where you can upload photos to sell online do not limit you to exclusively selling your photo on their site. This means that you can upload the same photo to many different sites, increasing your chances of selling your photos and allowing you to scale.

YouTube doesn’t pay you to upload videos to YouTube. (They don’t charge you to upload videos either). YouTube makes its money through advertising. Every time an ad plays on YouTube, they earn money.
Since they rely on the public to produce the content where their ads show, they share this ad revenue with people who upload content, providing you meet their minimum requirements. This is the first and most common way for people to make money on YouTube.
The second way is to promote affiliate products or even your own products on your channel. When people click through your link to purchase the product you are promoting, you will make money.

People love t-shirts with custom designs and slogans that make them feel good about something or promote their interests and hobbies. There are just way too many hobbies for big stores to design custom printed t-shirts that cater to everybody.

Now, if you are wondering just how much it is going to cost you to buy enough t-shirts of different sizes and colors to cater to a diverse audience and what a good printer is going to cost you on top of that, I have good news for you.
You don’t need to worry about any of that because you can make use of print-on-demand companies that already take care of that. These companies have t-shirt printers and a huge stock of t-shirts in different colors and sizes.
The way their service works is like this. You provide them with a design for a t-shirt (or design a t-shirt using their platform) and decide on the sizes and colors you would like that t-shirt to be available in.
They then create a mockup of that t-shirt that you can market online under your own brand. When someone purchases that t-shirt from you, they fulfill the order and ship it directly to the purchaser. You receive the money for the t-shirt and pay them for their fulfillment service.
This way there is no upfront cost for the service. But where would you market it? Surely you would need to build a website which means hosting fees, website design fees, etc.?
Some more good news. There are established online eCommerce platforms like Etsy and Redbubble where you can upload your t-shirts to sell directly from these platforms. Another upside to selling on these established platforms is that people are already going there to find similar products.
You can also flaunt your t-shirts on Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest. Promoting on these platforms is an excellent way to target groups that have an interest in something related to your print. Dropshipping has changed this. If you are new to this concept, dropshipping is where you market products on your online store, but you don’t buy the stock upfront. Instead, when you make a sale, you place the order with the manufacturer, and they ship the product directly to the customer. It never passes through your hands. One of the biggest advantages of this is that you can test a lot of different products to see which ones sell well without getting stuck with unsold stock of the products that didn’t sell.
One of the more popular places that offer dropshipping is AliExpress. There are literally thousands of manufacturers there that you can source products from for your dropshipping business.
This is an eCommerce business so you will need an e-commerce website and hosting. If you are not familiar with web design, you could subscribe to Shopify. They are an e-commerce platform that is newbie-friendly. Other than this the only money you will need is for marketing your products online.

The profit margins on dropshipping can be high, depending on what you are selling. You could very easily sell a rhinestone dog collar for $15, while only paying $3 including shipping to the US from AliExpress. That’s a 500% markup! It doesn’t take too much imagination to get a sense that there is a good amount of money that can be made here.

Health and fitness are here to stay. Now, more than ever, people are mindful of the need for a healthy mind and body. Prior to COVID, people purchased training videos to train from the comfort of their home. However, this one-size-fits-all type of training does not suit everyone. Personal trainers work with you as an individual to achieve your goals. They customize programs for you, coach you to ensure your form is correct, and hold you accountable.
It was almost inconceivable to think that this kind of training could take place remotely. Then when COVID created social distancing, personal trainers and their clients were forced to embrace training remotely via Zoom or some similar video conferencing platform.
My wife is a fitting example of this. She gives Callanetics classes to a small group of elderly people between the age of 70 and 90 at a venue. Blogging is one of my favorite ways to make money online. A blog is a great way to make money by adding value to other people.
While it requires a good amount of work upfront and some investment, done correctly, this business is as close as you can get to truly earning a passive income. The key is to choose an evergreen topic that will be as relevant 2 years from now as it is today.
There are a few ways you can make money blogging. The first way is through Ad revenue. This is probably the simplest method, but it also offers the lowest reward. You could earn as little as $4 per 1,000 views and as much as $60 per 1,000 views, depending on the topic, ad platform, and popularity of your site. Assuming earnings of $20 per 1,000 views, you would need to attract 100,000 views in a month to earn $2,000.
The second way to make money is through affiliate programs. You can make far more money from affiliate revenue than you can from Ad share revenue for the same number of visitors. If the idea of starting a blog interests you, you may want to check to see if there are opportunities to recommend products or services to your target audience that would make sense to them. For instance, if you had a blog about photography, you could recommend specific lenses or Adobe software and earn a commission every time someone clicked through from the affiliate link on your website and purchased the product.
